Pete Nuij Joins District as New Assistant Superintendent

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Pete Nuij as Assistant Superintendent, effective June 16, 2025.

With more than two decades of experience in public education, Pete brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to his new role. He has served as a teacher, school-based administrator, District Principal, Director of Instruction, and most recently, Associate Superintendent of Education Services with the Vancouver School Board.

No electric scooters permitted on school property

We are seeing an increase in these modes of transportation in the last year with young students. We are concerned about their safety as they travel at high speeds. 

Did you know that technically, in Abbotsford, electric-scooters are not allowed in the City of Abbotsford. There is a pilot project in the Province where certain cities (not Abbotsford) are piloting the e-scooters. In the cities that are being piloted the rider has to be 16+ years old, wearing helmets, not on sidewalks, etc.
