We are pleased to announce the arrival of the HSE Playbox. Inside the box are playground equipment provided by the school and district.
You might see these boxes similar to others across the city in parks or other schools.
The code for the lock on the box is 9665.
Please make sure you return the equipment when done and lock the playbox back up.
The History of the Playbox
Through the Healthy Abbotsford Partners Group (The City of Abbotsford, Fraser Health, Abbotsford School District, The Abbotsford News, the University of the Fraser Valley, Abbotsford Community Services, and Pacific Sport Fraser Valley), there was an opportunity to access funding from SCOPE to engage in an activity in the community that would help to support children and families to be active. When considering barriers to healthy, active lifestyles, Healthy Abbotsford identified several challenges that families face when trying to increase outdoor activity. This led to the development of Playboxes.

Isolation – (with busy schedules, lack of interaction with neighbors, and lack of family close-by, social isolation is becoming a significant problem in our community. How do you meet new people? Where do you meet new people? Not only does this lead to social isolation, but it also starts to erode the fabric of our sense of community and belonging).
