Human and Social Development

Our students will study personal and human social skills and as they relate to students' identity in the world - both as individuals and as members of their community. We are learning that personal and human social skills encompass the abilities students needs to thrive as individuals, to understand and care about themselves and others, and to find and achieve their purposes in the world.

Goals

  • Improve student sense of well-being.

At Harry Sayers we celebrate diversity and inclusion.

Thanks to help from our wonderful PAC we now have a Buddy Bench installed in our outdoor play space. This is a place that students can go if they are looking for someone to invite them to play, or if they are needing space to resolve a problem on the playground.

Connections with our parent community and community partners are very important to us here at Harry Sayers. In connection with the Abbotsford Community Schools and Big Brothers/Big Sister of the Fraser Valley we are able to offer after school programs for students.
